SMALL BUT MIGHTY

She may be tiny but she is fierce! If you’ve stopped by our taproom on Lake Superior, chances are you’ve met this bartender extraordinaire. Donna is a key member of our taproom staff and is a caring, wonderful woman through-and-through. Here’s a little more about our friend, Donna.

What do you do here?
I am a Taproom Assistant. I get to serve, educate, and give our customers a fun experience when they visit.

How long have you been working with us?
3 years.

Why were you interested in working for Castle Danger?
I used to bartend back in college and I loved the interaction with people in the service industry. After being a stay-at-home mom for a few years, I was ready to get back into the world of serving customers again.

What is your favorite part about your job?
Customer interaction and educating customers. I truly love my job and being able to talk to people all day! I also have to say we have the best team around. Everyone I work with is amazing and a ton of fun!

What is your favorite Castle Danger beer? What is your favorite beer outside of Castle Danger?
I didn’t drink ANY beer when I started CDB (I know… I know…) but now I’m a huge fan. George Hunter Stout is a favorite and also the Ode IPA. Outside of CDB would be Fair State Brewing Cooperative and I’m also a Venn Brewery fan.

What do you do for fun outside of work?
Anything and everything outdoors. Specifically, hiking and biking.

Do you have any hidden talent? If so, what is it?
I have crazy multi-tasking skills. *Can confirm – she does!

What is on your playlist right now?
Nathaniel Rateliff right now and always Van Morrison.

Are you a salty or a sweet person?
Salty! Give me all of the cheese and crackers (or chips and salsa)! *For the record, we have to say that Donna is a very SWEET person who likes salty snacks.

What sport would you compete in if you were in the Olympics?
Badminton.

Describe one crazy moment or memory you’ve had at Castle Danger.
Realizing that I walked 18 miles and worked 22 hours during the last Anniversary Weekend! I would do it again in a heartbeat. Just give me the next day off… *For you, Donna, we’ll consider it.

Our taproom would be missing something if we didn’t have this tiny, brave, and kindhearted gal serving you dangerously good ales. The next time you stop by 17 7th Street and you see Donna working, be sure to tell her how awesome she is!
